The Police University of Hamburg has over 250 enrolled students currently. The state-owned university was founded in 2006 and has a capacity for 400 students. The university was created for future police officers for the higher services or managers of the private security sector. Before the university was established the University of Public Administration Hamburg was responsible for these affairs.
