Founded in 1963 the Braunschweig University of Arts is owned by the federal state of Niedersachsen. Currently, there are 1,200 students in training. A special feature of the HBK is its interdisciplinary approach to teaching, enabling students to learn from and with each other. This is achieved by allowing them to attend any of the courses provided.
