The Helmut-Schmidt-University/ University of Federal Armed Forces Hamburg was
founded as the university of Federal Armed Forces Hamburg in 1972. The University of Federal
Armed Forces Hamburg is state-owned. Today approx. 2.500 students are enrolled in four
faculties at the university. The university educates young officers of the Federal Armed Forces.
The focus in research and teaching is on the fields of production engineering, simulation and acoustics.
