The former Royal Technical College of Saxony was founded in 1828; in 1961 it received its current name, Technical University Dresden. Today, more than 36,000 students are enrolled in 14 faculties. With a range of over 120 courses the TU Dresden is one of the most comprehensive universities in all of Germany.
